Officials from the Office of the Auditor General of Hirshabelle joined counterparts from South West, Jubbaland and Galmudug in a seven-day Federal Member State workshop focused on modern public-sector audit capacity.

The seven-day programme covered IT audit concepts and controls, reliability of system-generated evidence, fraud and technology risks, forensic audit techniques, professional writing, media engagement and institutional communication. These areas are increasingly important as public-sector records, transactions and audit evidence become more dependent on digital systems.

The workshop was supported by the European Union through the Technical Assistance for Advancing Financial Accountability in Somalia programme. The engagement strengthens specialist audit skills and professional exchange across participating state audit institutions.
